Check Your Mirrors

How often do you look into your car mirrors as you drive? Your rear view and side view mirrors are important tools that all good drivers should use on a regular basis. Learning how and when to use them can make you a better driver. Defensive driving online can be just the ticket in terms of teaching you how to be a safer driver.

The rear view mirror should be set so that you are able to see who or what is behind you; the side view mirrors should be set so that you can see what is to your sides, toward the rear of your car. You should look into your rear view mirror every twenty or thirty seconds, while you are driving. Your side view mirrors should be checked every twenty or thirty seconds also, and you should rely on them when you are about to change lanes or enter or exit a highway or road.

Don’t forget—even the most carefully arranged mirrors do not cover your blind spots. To be really safe when changing lanes, you need to quickly turn your head.

You can take a defensive driving class online for other safe driving tips. Remember, different states have different driving regulations, make sure you take the appropriate class: Texas defensive driving course, California online traffic school, Florida online traffic school, or Washington defensive driving class.
