How Confident Are You?

Confidence is good. A lot of confidence is very good. But…too much can be a problem, especially when it comes to driving a car. Overly confident, bold, even aggressive drivers who feel that they can bull their way past every other driver on the road can cause accidents.

On the other hand, timid drivers, people who are, for instance, afraid to enter a highway, could be dangerous drivers.

Most people know how to be just confident enough behind the wheel to be safe and efficient without being overly assertive and dangerous, but, if you are one of those people who is impulsive or, conversely, nervous and agitated in traffic, then taking a defensive driving class might be just the ticket.

Here are some questions to ask yourself: Do I have trouble: at intersections? maintaining the proper speed on highways? changing lanes? reading road signs while driving? maintaining a safe distance from cars that are ahead of me? entering or exiting highways or busy streets?

My lack of confidence has been a bigger problem for me in the dirving arena. I have been in a few car accidents and it has caused me to be a little hesitant and fearful... I could use more driving skills and a a refresher course in defenisve driving.
