The Course combines text, videos, and animations to create an on-line experience that’s interesting and interactive. You'll learn traditional vehicle operational safety information, but also Texas-specific rules and regulations like state speed limits and DWI/DUI laws. The course will take you about 6 hours to complete and contains 12 chapters, each outlining a different aspect of driving safety.

You will take several short multiple-choice quizzes in each chapter throughout the course. You must take and pass a final exam upon completion of the course. You must score 70 percent or more on the final exam before a Certificate of Completion will be processed or mailed to you. If you score less than 70 percent, you must retake the final exam.

• The responsibility of vehicle operation

• Defensive driving strategies

• Traffic signs, signals, and roadway markings

• Safe driving practices

• Turning and passing

• Driving in the city, expressway & varied environments

• Challenges of driving (weather, road conditions, etc.)

• Vehicle operation under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol

• Sharing the road

• Vehicle safety and maintenance

NOTE: This course is approved by the Texas Education Agency and meets the legal requirements for traffic ticket dismissal. This course also meets the requirements of the Texas Department of Insurance for automobile insurance discount credit.
